Creation stories are handed down from one generation to another amongst Indigenous people in Australia. The rockholes and creek bed here would have been described to Nellie by her mother many times. Food and water were be had there. Further, the creation of these significant places would have been the subject of learning processes as Nellie grew to adulthood. Now she paints about her country and the important aspects of places in the desert she knows well. Nellie has a superb colour sense and her work is currently very much in demand.
